Compost Hub

*Limited number of hubs in the trial

We have enough Champions for this trial, however Contributors are still needed.

Please read and agree to the Terms of Use

1. Sign up by clicking on the 'Registration' tab at the bottom of the page and complete the registration form.

2. Go to the 'Places' tab and pin your street on the map. Give people an approximate idea of your location ie. the nearest cross road. (Please note that this can not be moved once pinned). In the comments section, please include your preferred contact details such as your email so neighbours can contact you.

3. Sign up to Compost Revolution and take the 5 question quiz to make sure you're up to date with composting information.

4. Drop off some flyers to your neighbours . These can be downloaded in the 'document library' to the right of the screen or we can post them to you (tmein@bmcc.nsw.gov.au). Check out our short 1 min video on connecting with your neighbours. When you are out and about, please adhere to road rules, don't trespass on private property, and if it's dark, make sure you are highly visable.

5. After your neighbours have registered online, talk to them about the most suitable time and place to drop off food scraps. You only need 4 compost contributors to receive your FREE compost bin. Those contributors can't be from your household but they can be from another household or several households of any age. Email tmein@bmcc.nsw.gov.au to arrange delivery.

6. Once you're underway, record how many kitchen caddies you receive and then upload that info every fortnight by clicking on the 'Record Sheet' tab. This is important to help us work out how much we've saved from going to landfill!

7. If you have enough people bringing you food scraps, then simply update your pin on the map to say you're full. Please note that a maximum of 4 compost bins will be issued per compost champion.

Find a compost champion close to you and click on the pin. Their contact details are in the comments section.

3. Make contact to find out the most suitable location to drop off your kitchen scraps and when to pick up. Please respect the privacy of your neighbours in regards to their requests. If there is no champion, please update your pin to include your preferred contact details such as your email and the number of people in your household so that future champions can contact you.

4. Once your compost champion has signed up a minimum of 4 contributors (they can be any age and from the same household or several households), we'll send you (via your champion) a kitchen caddy to keep and carry food scraps in.
